Lessons and Programs 2012

Get ready for Summer Tennis with the Keizer Tennis Association (KTA)!

We are gearing up for our 2012 summer program for 6-16 year olds and an expanded adult tennis program in Keizer.  You can register by downloading our "Slammin' Summer Program" flyer (English version or Spanish version) or, NEW THIS YEAR, visit our Registration page for links to online registration (our preference).

We offer scholarships for kids - please contact the KTA for more information about qualifying.  McNary High School's courts will be used this summer (2012). Please click here to view maps for court locations and check back here for updates on where lessons will be held should we have rain or some other event that requires us to move from McNary!

Once again we are offering 10-and-Under (QuickStart) tennis for 6-10 year olds. If you're interested in becoming a 10-and-Under instructor or are a parent who wants to actively participate in your child's 10-and-Under experience, you might want to go to the USTA's Youth Tennis site and read all about this exciting teaching method - it's way cool!

The KTA is a member of the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network. The NJTL provides low-cost team tennis opportunities for beginners to advanced players.  The NJTL offers kids opportunities to work on teamwork, sportsmanship, self discipline and self esteem.

Again This Year - Match Play for ages 6-14!

KTA will be offering a match play day for kids (see the program flyer for specific day/time - a link to the flyer is in the first paragraph above). This will give younger players a chance to play singles and doubles matches with supervision. They will learn scoring etiquette, sportsmanship and we'll give them tips on strategy. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

Just think - with enough lessons and ambition, your child could become a professional player, like the US's own Bryant Brothers, who some say are the greatest doubles team in the world. Check out this feature story from 60 Minutes
